Simvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering medication that blocks the production of cholesterol (a type of fat) in the body. Simvastatin reduces low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and total cholesterol in the blood. Lowering your cholesterol can help prevent heart disease. Simvastatin is used for: Lowering blood cholesterol levels and thereby reducing the risk of stroke, heart attack, and heart disease. This medicine may also be used to lower triglycerides.
Startstat (Generic Zocor) helps to lower high cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Startstat (Generic Zocor) is used in people who have coronary heart disease (CHD) or who are at high risk of CHD (for example, if they have diabetes, a history of stroke, or other blood vessel disease). |
