Rosiglitazone maleate and metformin HCl tablets contain 2 oral antihyperglycemic drugs used in the management of type II diabets . Rosiglitazone maleate is an oral antidiabetic agent, which acts primarily by increasing insulin sensitivity. Rosiglitazone improves glycemic control while reducing circulating insulin levels. EnselinMF Fort is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus when treatment with dual rosiglitazone and metformin therapy is appropriate. Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus should include diet control. Caloric restriction, weight loss, and exercise are essential for the proper treatment of the diabetic patient because they help improve insulin sensitivity.
Avandamet is an oral medication used to control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes. It contains two drugs commonly used to lower blood sugar, rosiglitazone (Avandia) and metformin (Glucophage). Avandamet replaces the need to take these two drugs separately. It is also used when treatment with Glucophage alone doesn't work. Avandamet is not, however, meant to take the place of weight loss or diet and exercise.
